Background:
Cassie earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University, where she also served as starting goalkeeper and team captain on the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. During her time at NYU, Cassie completed rigorous coursework and extensive research exploring the intersectionality of sports, eating behaviors, body image, and identity. Additionally, she worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor while completing her M.S. and Dietetic Internship.
Over the last four years as a Registered Dietitian, Cassie has worked in numerous settings including private practice, corporate wellness, and most recently bariatric surgery. During her time as a bariatric dietitian, she conducted considerable research and outreach to enhance her patients access to mental health resources and care. This experience helped her understand the intricacies and nuance of eating disorders and disordered eating, body image and identity, and healing a relationship with food and body. Her nutrition philosophy and counseling style have evolved over the years as she has treated numerous patients with a wide variety of diseases and health goals.
